How Can Effective Data Collection Drive Business Success in the Modern Age?

When you think about data collection you want to think about it in two parts. There's the data “collection” which is actually collecting the data, and then there's the data “collection” which is storing the data. In this post we will think more about storage and management. While there are sources that support that 67% of businesses use cloud storage for their data[1], it’s not clear that they are using complex data management services there. Excel, Google Sheets, and other simple mechanisms for collecting data are the most likely initial mechanism for gathering data, as they are easy to use by anyone.

Once these initial data are collected, then they can be gathered into more useful databases through cleaning and processing mechanisms, in order to be used in various analyses.
